Tiger

Software for Mac OS X TigerFour native applications for Mac OS X 10.4: a terminal, a hub client and two KOEI games in English.

Programs for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, made in 2026 on the machine that serves this page. Each one is a native Tiger application: no Classic environment, and nothing else to install. TigerTTY and Tiger Hub are new. Uncharted Waters III and Romance of the Three Kingdoms V are KOEI games of the 1990s whose Macintosh editions were Japanese and ran only on the classic Mac OS.

Below is the newest release of each, with its size and checksums. On the Tiger Mac itself, type http://tiger.v2core.com/ with http, not https: Tiger's Safari cannot open the https address.

On the Tiger Mac

In Safari, type http://tiger.v2core.com/, with http. Tiger's Safari cannot open the https address: the site's network asks for newer encryption than Tiger has. Over plain http, the pages and every download work.

The links on these pages keep to http when you came by http. The games' disk images come from their own sites, dai3.v2core.com and rotk5.v2core.com, which work over http as well.

Checking a download

Under each file are its SHA-256 and MD5 checksums. Tiger's openssl is too old for SHA-256, so on Tiger check the MD5. In Terminal, type md5 and a space, drag the disk image into the window, and press Return. On a newer Mac, shasum -a 256 prints the SHA-256.

Installing

Tiger's Safari asks whether to keep downloading a disk image that contains an application: click Continue. Open the disk image. For TigerTTY and Tiger Hub, drag the application to Applications. For a game, copy its whole folder to a disk you can write to, and open the application inside it: the game keeps its saved games in that folder.

Tiger HubPowerPC or Intel10.4 or later
Uncharted Waters IIIPowerPC10.4

None of them uses the Classic environment. The two games were tried in Mac OS X 10.4.11 under emulation. TigerTTY and Tiger Hub were also tried on a real PowerPC G4.

Where the downloads come from

This page is made again whenever one of the four programs has a new release. Each download is the newest one, read from where that program is built, and its SHA-256 is checked against the one its project published.

The two games have their own sites, with their Mac OS 9 editions, guides, pictures, changelogs and source: dai3.v2core.com and rotk5.v2core.com.
